Manuel gives Jimmy a hard time about delivering, and paying for, the groceries.
Jimmy and Toby are nervous about Evy's return from rehab.
"Act normal, the way you always acted around me!"
Toby, an aging trophy wife, wishes she could stay with Evy to get her through the night.
Jimmy, a struggling actor, is excited about his latest play.
Evy's teenage daughter Polly wants to return to her mother's home now that she's sober, but Evy isn't sure.
Lou wants Evy back...
...but she's learned from her past mistakes and asks him to leave.
Polly confronts Evy after Evy comes home late, and has had a few drinks.
Evy's got a job interview, but Polly thinks she can do better.
Jimmy, fired from his play, worries that he will never achieve his acting dreams.
Toby announces her divorce at her 40th birthday party.
"He wants a divorce, darling, it's that simple." 
Jimmy, Polly and Toby look on as the party, and Evy, fall apart.
Jimmy makes a heartfelt birthday toast...
...but Evy, upset by her friends' problems, can't stop drinking.
